youth group

Overview:

Youth Group is an awesome chance for high school aged youth to meet together, study God’s word, the Bible, and have fun. Youth Group is open to anyone is years 7-12 and offers a relaxed environment to share life, and come to understand who God is and what relevance He has to our lives. We meet at the Church at 6.30pm Friday nights during school term, and we start we sharing dinner together (please bring $5 for this). Then we usually chill out and play some games before we break up into small groups to explore a passage of the Bible. We also sing, pray together, get up to some crazy stuff, and of course, eat some more at the end.

Occasionally we have purely social events. In the past we have had pizza nights, gone ten pin bowling, played a life size game of Cluedo, had movie marathons, and shredded up the park with epic sport comps. On top of this, we love just chilling out together during the holidays.
At points throughout the year, we do things with other youth groups, like go on awesome youth camps together, and have giant combined youth group nights with other Presbyterian youth groups in the area.

Friday nights are friendly, fun and informal, and we would love to have you join us as we have fun, share life together, and seek to learn more about Jesus Christ and His plan for our lives. If you would like some more information please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’d love to chat!

So w have started Youth Group again for 2012! And what a fantastic year we have ahead! Think camps, games on a massive scale, lots and lots of food, the best socials we have organised so far, combine youth group events, and most importantly, getting stuck into God’s word, the Bible… and that’s just the first half of the year! We can’t wait to see God work in amazing ways to help us grow in maturity in Christ. Below is the permission slip for Term 1, so make sure you print it out and bring it along. It also has all the details for this term. We have been looking at the Old Testament book of Micah at the moment, and what a crazy book! Assyrians marching on the walls of Jerusalem, idols and temples being destroyed, a future king being promised… and throughout all of it, we are seeing God faithfully working for the good of His people, despite their evil deeds.
